Pram...

We've looked at every pram in existence over that last couple of months, ones that we really like - won't fit into the car properly, or are really difficult to fold down. Or just too bloody expensive.

However, we have recently discovered the Pramette from www.mammasandpapas.co.uk, we've tried it out in store, and like it - it also fits in to the car perfectly. It's just the price that is the problem.

And then, we discovered a pram shop on ebay, that is selling the pram for 40GBP less than 'MammasandPapas', or any other shop that we've seen it stocked in. We've used the BUY IT NOW facility, but are going to pick it up on Friday in Manchester.

The lady there has told us that they also have the car seat available, so we will also pick that up at the same time. Bonus.

In other baby related news... because I am such an anal retentive, I have started to pack my various bags for the hospital. This isn't quite as stupid as it sounds, as the midwife has told me that they will almost certainly be taking me in early, due to my pre-existing high blood pressure.

I've come over all emotional this week, while packing the baby's hospital bag. So excited!

Ante-natal ...

I have my 28 week ante-natal appointment on Friday, with the consultant, who, (as predicted) I haven't actually seen yet - I keep seeing whichever duty doctor is on call. But no matter, everything seems to be progressing well.

The baby seems to have settled into a routine now. I know that he's going to be active when I first wake up - you can actually see my tummy moving, while he's doing the Riverdance, or whatever else it is he gets up to in there. Then he'll be quiet till lunchtime - when he goes a bit crazy, before falling asleep again... and then around 20:00 he's on full alert, and will still be going strong when I go to bed.

I hope this isn't going to be an indication of how active he'll be when he arrives!

Good news...

Zelda (aka my mother) stil hasn't had any alco-ma-hol. She hasn't had a drink now, since we told her we were pregnant. Bear in mind that I'm 28 weeks preggers on Thursday, and that REALLY is a record for her.

What this has highlighted however, is that it wasn't the alcohol that made her nasty. She just IS a nasty cow anyway.

Update...

... sorry I haven't been around much Kitty-Kats, I'm sure you've all been pining for my company. :o)

I've not had much access to the 'puter, due to Dave having to complete and submit his dissertation. Which he has finally done. Yay! Just three more months of studying, and he'll hopefully have his degree. He's also got to complete three more assignments and a ruck of exams (which are due at the same time as the bambion - eek!)

So - unfortunately I haven't been 'upto' anything too exciting - though I have had a night out (GASP!!), and we've had a couple of days away in the lakes with Dave's parents.

FRIDAY 11 MARCH:
Heather, reminded me to tell you all that when she made my birthday cake - she actually made TWO cakes... one WITH nuts, and one without, just in case I wasn't 'doing' nuts, while pregnant.

TUESDAY 15 MARCH:

Dave handed in his dissertation, after the printer took over five hours to print two copies!! It was a very close call.

WEDNESDAY 16 MARCH:

Went upto Ulpha in the Lake District, to spend a couple of nights with Dave's parents, in the cottage they had rented. The weather was pretty pants, switching betweend very misty and blowing a gale/raining. But - there was a HUGE open fire, which made things seem much better. I had two lovely lie-ins, while every one else walked the dogs. I was a happy bunny.

As for the bambino - he's felt SO strong the last week or so - some of this kicks have almost taken my breath away. I'm six months along at the moment, and you can see my tummy moving while he's throwing his shapes. Very disconcerting. But I'm still loving it all.

Actually - that's not true. After losing 21 pounds in the first couple of months (which, frankly I NEEDED to lose...) I've just found out this morning that I've put on nearly seven pounds in a week. Eep! MUST EAT MORE FRUIT.

Weekend Shenanigans ...

FRIDAY:
I met up at one of our local pubs, with a bunch of girls I went to school with. The pub was chosen purely for the fact that we were all completely skint, and you can get two meals for seven pounds, and a bottle of wine for five pounds. Bargain.

So, there was Karen - who was quiet... mostly because she couldn't get a word in with us three chattering away. Heather, who reminded me to tell you all that when she made my birthday cake last week - she actually made TWO cakes... one WITH nuts, and one without, just in case I wasn't 'doing' nuts, while pregnant. Heather got very merry, very quickly - and was very funny. 'Specially when she got manic hiccoughs. And, then there was Anita, who'd brought a couple of sweet pressies with her for the bambino. Neet is our mummy figure, she keeps us all under control.

Unfortunately, on Friday night, it was by flicking wine at us when we got out of line. :o)

It was a nice night, just what the doctor ordered - I had lots of fun, despite not drinking any alco-ma-hol, but had to bale at around 10:30, due to a massive wave of tiredness.

SATURDAY:

We were invited round to Steven and Claire's house for a 'kid's party'. At the last minute the kiddies were cancelled, but we still went anyway, as it was Steven and Claire's anniversary. We had a cool little kiddy type buffet, and Dean kept us amused by trying on various of his fancy dress costumes. Again a nice, chilled out night - with an early dart, as we were both shattered.

Cheeky!...

Dave just went to make the bed with the laundry that we picked up earlier today.

I'm on the computer, he's in the bedroom, and he said "Bloody hell, I thought that was the pillow case, and it's your maternity knickers."

Nice.

He's threatening to post pictures!

Happy Birfdee to me ...

Had a fab day yesterday, lots of chocolate and flowers. I even got a dozen red roses from my mate. Very nice.

My old school friend Heather made me a fabulous choccy birthday cake, with cherries in... yumminess (she's made me one for the last three years, and they just get better and better), and she very kindly left out the nuts - just in case I wasn't 'doing' nuts, being pregnant an all that.

And THEN....

Today, we had another scan (the fifth so far) and everything looks good - ten tiny fingers and ten tiny toes and all that, and it looks like we're going to be having...
